Vineyard Wines Tasting Rooms Gatherings Membership Estate Tasting

Past the gates, the whole coast opens up.

Through the end of fall, we invite guests to the estate itself: a private tour and tasting offered on Saturdays, by advance reservation only.

Set among the vines above the Carmel Coast, with the Pacific seven miles in the distance, the estate is where our wines begin. Led by our winemaker or a member of our wine education team, the 90 minute experience opens with a guided walk through the vineyard and its history: the coastal terroir, the life of the vines through the year, and the growing conditions that shape each vintage.

It concludes with a seated tasting of five estate wines, chosen from across our portfolio to show the breadth of the collection and the character this place gives them. A charcuterie platter, which serves two, is available to accompany your tasting for an additional $40, and the wines you taste are available for purchase at the estate.

The estate sits behind a private gate. Your team member will meet you at the entrance off Carmel Valley Road ten minutes before your tasting time and lead you up. Full directions arrive with your reservation.

Good to Know

Why does the price range from $160 to $200?
The tasting itself is $160 per guest: a $100 deposit at booking, with the remaining $60 charged after your tasting. Add the $40 charcuterie platter, which serves two, and the deposit becomes $140, bringing the total to $200.
How is this different from the tasting rooms in Carmel-by-the-Sea and Monterey?
The tasting rooms are walk-in friendly and in town. The estate tasting happens on the vineyard itself, by advance booking only, for a private group.
Is the estate really private?
Yes. The vineyard sits behind two gates, one for the community, one for the estate itself, and isn't visible from the road. A team member meets you at the entrance off Carmel Valley Road and leads you up.
How will I know where to go?
You'll get a confirmation email right away, then a follow-up email 24 hours before your visit with your exact meeting point and time, ten minutes ahead of your tasting.
When is the estate tasting offered?
Saturdays, through the end of fall, by advance reservation only.
How does payment work?
A non-refundable deposit is charged at booking: $100 per guest, or $140 per guest with the charcuterie platter added. The remaining $60 per guest is charged at the end of your tasting. Club members receive their applicable discounts.
What about larger groups?
A 20% gratuity is included automatically for parties of six or more. For larger parties, contact us at info@albatrossridge.com to check availability.
Can we buy wine to take home?
Yes. The wines you taste are available for purchase at the estate.
